I did the Robots model wire frame for the UI Screen I had references for the shot base on the design Ronald showed us me and emily model we had to place the camera and rotate around the object after that we went over to discuss with IXD team about the content they needed for the website and fix whatever that was needed before we could proceed with other stuff Ronald I tried to fix the rigging problem and did the foot roll for the robot

Day 10 of Production
Day 10 Production
Today was not a great start for me because of the model rigging i had to fix alot of issues for justin parts were flying all over the screen it was hard to figure out the areas and how to re do the steps over and step over just to get things going i try various ways make sure it works fine i decide to ask ms arina for advice mr chad showed me the Human IK what it does it capture real movement of people to use for animation plus is faster and easier but is not for our robots we don't want it to be too organic it will ruin the animation so we discuss and come out with solutions base on how we can work with using bones in maya actually is more flexible and its for the fast robot so we had to fix it before justin animate it so i had to redo from scratch study how robots move in an environment and change the naming convention so justin knows what he needs to animate

We discuss with the IXD team on the robot colours then work on at the same time managing our work flow we were lacking behind schedule more importantly the decision making had to be made to ensure we get the job done we try to spilt the workload and speed up the progress we had to confirm alot things before we can continue communication with the IXD team tell us what they want to see on the video to have an impact when people see it

Day Eight Post Productions
I was working on my model rigging for some time i run into some problems trying to fix it at the same time i had to help emily with her robot to improve its appearance and work on other elements Ronald gave some task to do and so far i am doing it okay i guess cause of the rigging issues also we had plan the video on the robots appearing in the video

Day 7 of Production
Day 7 Production
We plan for our shoot to be indoors because of the weather condition so we work out with the IXD team and tell them about the plan that we had to work with so we change our shoot accordingly and coordinate the scene how we wanted it
We talked about the robots textures that we want to have on them I was doing a EMP ball for the bulky robot as the robot runs it will fire the ball to hit the other robot to stop its movement

Day 6 of production
Day Six of Production
we started planning the scene and what we going to film we went with the IXD team to the location where we are filming and discuss what can be taken cause of the weather was quite bad to see shot whatever we can and move on to the Mocap room to film the scene for actors using the user-interface we set up the lights accordingly we had to take different part of the footage so we can decide which could work and what does not work in the shot
Colour test for the model so we plan on the colour choices that we had to work with and design a few version to see which suits the best and play around with the materials that maya has to figure base on the micro-site colours so its more fitting to the robot Emily has to fix her robot face so she is working on that so she is planning to change it to fit the body

Day 4 Modeling and Rigging the Robot

Me and Emily were discussing about the movement of each part of the robot we talk about the joints and how is going to move in the 3D space in Maya followed by how the actions are going to look like in the actual production stage we practice the controls on a proxy model before we actually start on the a actual model that we created from our concept we discuss the final design on the robots before rigging was involve in the process plenty of trial and error we had to face but we mange to get things done before we fully model and rigged the robot
Rigging/Controls/set driven keys
I decided for the fast robot to have controls for each part of the body basically adjusting the arm movement followed by the thighs the knees even designing the foot-roll control because is agile moves i wanted it to have multiple controls so Justin can control easily and save time for the animations.
various attributes had to be use for the robot such as knee bending Twisting the upper body and so on

Day 3 discussion on the Look and feel of the 2 robots
DAY 3
I and Emily were the character designers for the robots we discuss with the IXD team the colours of the robots and report to Ronald on the outcome then we discuss on the design for each of them how they going to look like base on what Ronald and Justin we looking at so we came out with a lot of various designs eventually we chose the grasshopper robot and a bulky robot as the main characters to represent the each of the micro sites from the IXD team
Me and Emily discuss the robots shape and planning the rigging on the character's parts so that Justin and Ronald can animate the robots movements the next part was to plan the EMP ball will look like we had test out in Houdini the particles flowing in a direction that we wanted and the shot that we are looking at

Day 2 concept planning
Day 2
I discuss with my leader and IXD members on the theme that they are going for we all throw in ideas and help the IXD team on both the website and video so that both can relay the message about the IXD course
We some difficulties on the way but we sort of did some brain storming to bring out the actual message that we can show to secondary school students about IXD and the creative works that they have done
The Main idea we decided was on the Robots control by the users as they challenge each other to see whose is better then from there we are creating a story of it and try to relay the message as the same time
Together with the IXD team to work on concept of the robots how they look

Concept Day 1
My part I share with the IXD Team on the Taglines and the overall concept with my Group Leader Ronald and my group mates Justin Livesh and Emily on the idealization with the our IXD members to talk about the course benefits and how promote to secondary school student the interactive way of learning from the course
I took notes on the short video concept to come up with a better story also helping IXD team website
